Sora feels his heart flutter and his fingers grasp onto Squall's sleeve to keep him there for a longer kiss. He wants a bit more than usual, it seems.]

You can wear what you like. Usagi and me are gonna wear matching Japanese yukata for when we crown the new flower king and queen together.

You two do like to match a lot. It's kinda cute... ah but what's a yukata?

Ummmm, it's a type of festival clothes people from her world wear. They're colourful and sometimes have big bows on the back.

[So obviously it was Usagi who roped Sora into wearing these.]

...Yeah I can see you wearing a giant bow. It's pretty cute to picture.

[ he flashes him a faint smile, reaching out to comb his fingers through Sora's hair. ]

[Sora ducks his head down a little.]

It's not cute...

It's very cute. But cute in a Sora way.

[ he snorted softly. Since Sora was ducking his head, Squall took this moment to rest his chin on top of his head. Ultimate comfort. ]

Are these... yukatas annoying?

[He ends up chuckling and letting Squall use him as a headrest.]

No, they're super comfy. Kind of like wearing a fancy robe? Do you wanna wear one too, Squall?

I think... I could probably be convinced to wear one.

Great! What colours would you want? [He actually is pretty excited to see Squall in one.]

This will be your second festival, huh?

[ Ah... well now he had to do it. He could just hear the excitement in his voice and that alone melted him a little. ]

I dunno. I don't really like or hate any color more than the other. I guess whatever color you think would look best?

Mmm. I didn't really do much during the first one, but I remember you dragging me there.

Pink? [He's joking.

He actually remembers the flower festival was around the time Sora started to like Squall a lot. He doesn't want to say that out loud but he blushes a little and feels a little warmer to the touch.]

As long as it didn't have dorky animals on it.

[ he tilted his head down to playfully nudge Sora's with his own. At least Sora knew when he did. Squall couldn't really put it together when he started liking Sora. He just... started thinking about him more and wanted his attention more and more. ]

[Squall, you really shouldn't give Sora this much power... It's going to start going straight to his head.]

Really? You'd wear pink?

[He likes Squall in black more, but he wasn't really expecting that answer.]

We're gonna dance too, right?

I don't really think it'd look good on me, but I don't really care one way or the other what color I wear.

[ Squall snorted softly. Look, Sora caught him in a good mood, and he's missed him so much, even now that he's been back for a while. If dorky colors made Sora happy, he'd be willing to suffer them.]

Mmm... I suppose that can be arranged.

[Sora is too spoiled.]

What about... Black for you then? I have blue. And maybe we can get matching flower clips.

[Yes, for their hair. Like girls.]

I hope you get to meet Ventus too.

Flower clips?... I guess that would fit the theme or whatever.

[ Flowers is something he wouldn't be that embarrassed by. He spent most of the last festival making flower crowns after all. ]

Ah... I'm still a bit iffy there.

[ He reached up to comb his fingers through his hair. ]

Who knows what his opinion of me might be...

[Sora shifts and looks back up at Squall. He tilts his head a bit.]

Sorry, I didn't mean to worry you about that. Ven is really nice. I've known him my whole life.

[He knows Squall's been off doing his own thing, but it had popped into his mind that it might be nice. But he won't push Squall about it then.]

If it happens it happens, if it doesn't, that's okay too.

[ Squall tilted his head a little, a small amused look forming on his face. Ah... he was mostly teasing, he didn't think Sora would actually take that comment seriously. He reached out to cup Sora's cheek instead this time. ]

He's technically a part of you, right? What kind of a-- jerk would I be if I didn't try to meet him?

[Ahhh, caught that almost swear word!!

Sora feels his cheeks warm up.]

Heh, sort of. Our hearts are connected and we've always protected each other.

Would you say he's more like you or more like Riku?

[ So he knows what to prepare for. ]

[Sora laughs.]

Nah, he's easy to get along with.

[He leans up to brush his lips against Squall's cheek with another kiss.]

Thanks, Squall, I'm excited to spend some time with you at the festival.

[Some honest to goodness quality time. He doesn't want to think about anything complicated.]

[ Squall leans into the kiss, reaching out to take one of Sora's hands to thread their fingers together. ]

After two months of trying to help and failing.... I will admit... I kind of want to be a little selfish and steal some of your time... I know your busy, and I'd... never take all of it, but... even now this is... nice.

[ A pause ]

Ignore how cheesy that was.

[oathkeeper]

Nope, I'm remembering that forever!

[Something new flutters in his chest which makes the area around them get pleasantly warmer. It's like the summer sun and wind peeks out for just a moment to wash over them.]

I promise I'll spend the most time with you, Squall.

[What he's always adored about being with Squall is his capacity to mean so much in such few words. And beyond that still, always accepting Sora's social butterfly tendencies and not getting mad at him for it. It's who Sora is, after all. That part would never change. He would always gravitate to Squall as well and he wants to spoil Squall too.]
