Last year was my first time going to the festival... I went alone myself but it was actually not terrible...

[ Squall gently lifts up the kitten with the round belly and wiggles its tiny paw at Warrior. ]

No. You don't want to disappoint me. It will shatter my whole outlook on life.

[ Squall is... making the kitten speak? Yes, it surely looks like that, to which the Warrior tilts his head a little before he reaches out to scritch under their chin. ]

Ah, this entire time I did not know you were able to speak. I see you only do so around Squall, hm?

Because he promised to go to the festival.

Then I suppose I shall have to go, won't I?

[ A pause and then the Warrior glances down. ]

Is there a dress code for this?

Mmm... I don't think so? Unlike that weird masquerade party thing, here you can wear whatever. Sora's kind of roped me into wearing a Yukata.

[ He must have missed this as he doesn't seem to recall such a thing. ]

I suppose I will do my best to find something... a little better.

[ Since, well, the Warrior is just dressed in a simple black shirt and pants... yep. ]

You could always ask Sora to dress you up. He's usually pretty good about that... when it doesn't count suits.

They're good if you like suits with stupid designs on them.

This suit has reindeer on it to celebrate some dumb holiday.

Then I shall make sure to steer clear of reindeer.

[ He offers a nod with a smile. ]

Maybe he can find you a Yukata with cats.

This festival... it is one for feelings of love, correct? And that is why couples attend together? With matching clothes?

[ Like you and Sora, Squall? ]

Ah... something like that I guess? I just want to go because of the flowers though...

[ A nod, the Warrior glances down to the floor. ]

Then I shall do the same.

[ Squall gently sets the sleepy kitten down finally and gives Warrior a concerned stare. ]

[ A pause. ]

I wish I knew what it was to love and to be loved in return.

[ Smiling a little, the Warrior sighs then. Was he ever loved to begin with? Memories he still can't recall despite his having found a home for himself now. ]

Garland seems to think such a thing is not possible for me and he may be right, given my duty.

[ The thought has the Warrior glance down again, considering something. ]

But if that is my fate, the destiny that has been handed to me... then I do accept it.

I dunno if you consider this guy your friend or not, but This Garland guy sounds like he's a bit obsessive over you, and he wants to keep you to himself...

To claim that we are bound to one another within conflict, I suppose he very well may be.

[ Smiling a little, he wonders if he'll ever break free of those chains the fallen knight seemingly has wrapped around him- wrapped around them. ]

But to see how grand it is, even here within this world where they have festivals surrounding it... surely it must be something of importance to many. To feel that.

Look... whatever that guy told you, ignore it. he sounds like an asshole. "Wanna listen to my romantic dreams? Well too bad cause I'll always beat you" sort of asshole. You deserve much more...
