I... don't know if it's all this hope and love crap Sora's infected me with, but... when you put it that way it sounds... kind of lonely. Kind of like... your own little barrier to distance yourself from others while still protecting them.

[ The Warrior can't help but smile at hearing such words from Squall, a gentle glance down to the sleeping kitten and baby chick who have become friends in a way that perhaps is much like he and Squall have. ]

There are always those who must sacrifice their own happiness if it means to protect the happiness of others.

[ Words soft but... not as sad as they might seem to some. ]

Some things simply don't always work out... or are meant to be I'm afraid.

I wouldn't say your happiness wasn't meant to be... you have just as much right to happiness as a 18 year old asshole who still can't be normal.

[ Smiling still, the Warrior allows a hand to gently pat at Squall's knee. ]

And yet the 18 year old asshole has someone who cares for him and he cares for in return.

[ His touch is soft and yet reassuring at the same time. ]

To see you happy, Squall, it is more than I could ever ask for with being here and I am glad that I get to see it.

If you want to see me happy... then you should continue to enjoy yourself for as long as you can. That will surely make me the happiest.

[ The Warrior gives his friend a nod before he comes to pause while looking to the sleeping babes between them. ]

You will be going to the festival then?

With or without Sora's encouragement... I was planning on going.

Then I am sure that I will see you there. If even alone, I thought it might be nice to see the flowers.

Last year was my first time going to the festival... I went alone myself but it was actually not terrible...

So you are reassuring me that it will not be terrible for me then, correct?

Pretty much. Trust me, the cats will want you to come out and enjoy the festivities.

[ Squall gently lifts up the kitten with the round belly and wiggles its tiny paw at Warrior. ]

No. You don't want to disappoint me. It will shatter my whole outlook on life.

[ Squall is... making the kitten speak? Yes, it surely looks like that, to which the Warrior tilts his head a little before he reaches out to scritch under their chin. ]

Ah, this entire time I did not know you were able to speak. I see you only do so around Squall, hm?

Because he promised to go to the festival.

Then I suppose I shall have to go, won't I?

[ A pause and then the Warrior glances down. ]

Is there a dress code for this?

Mmm... I don't think so? Unlike that weird masquerade party thing, here you can wear whatever. Sora's kind of roped me into wearing a Yukata.

[ He must have missed this as he doesn't seem to recall such a thing. ]

I suppose I will do my best to find something... a little better.

[ Since, well, the Warrior is just dressed in a simple black shirt and pants... yep. ]

You could always ask Sora to dress you up. He's usually pretty good about that... when it doesn't count suits.

They're good if you like suits with stupid designs on them.

This suit has reindeer on it to celebrate some dumb holiday.

Then I shall make sure to steer clear of reindeer.
