[Sora hums a little as he settles back. He knows quite a bit about Squall. His life, his friends, how he grew up, what he was doing before coming to Verens... So, what should he ask?]

Why'd you pick to learn how to use a gunblade?

[innermonologues]

That was because of Cid, our headmaster at Balamb.

[ Squall shifts closer and rests his chin on Sora's shoulder, hoping that kept Sora from noticing that Squall's arms slowly upwrap from him. He'll blindly seek out that piercing tool as long as it kept Sora distracted. ]

It was around the time when we were all supposed to start picking what weapons we would like to train in, what we felt we would excel in. Cid came to me and brought up the Gunblade, saying he'd hope I would try it out.

[ There was a small pause, did he find it...??? Nope still patting around the bed for it. ]

Seifer caught wind of that and decided to take on being a Gunbladeist too. So that sort of sealed the deal for me.

[oathkeeper]

[It seems to work as a distraction so far. The items that Sora left on his lap are there and forgotten as Sora listens and thinks.]

You two really do sort of sound like me and Riku when we were little.

[Sora won't say it out loud but he copied Riku a lot.]

[innermonologues]

[ When he realizes what he's looking for isn't on the bed he very delicately tries to grab the items from Sora's lap.

Snorting loudly, he lightly nudges Sora with his head.]

I feel like I should be insulted by that "when we were little" comment.

[oathkeeper]

[Sora chuckles, blissfully unaware for the moment.]

Haha, I mean!! When you were a bit younger? Same thing. You decided to go through with it because he was.

[innermonologues]

It's insulting because Seifer and me are still at each other's throats, back home anyway.

[ Squall snorts again and nuzzles Sora's cheek a tiny bit. ]

I mean this was a little fresh before I came here you know.

[ Squall pokes his own forehead with one hand while quickly sneaking the device and earrings off of Sora's lap. ]

[oathkeeper]

That's sort of like a friendship... Maybe?

[Sora's fought with plenty of his friends. None that gave him big scars across his nose, though...]

Okay. But there's nothing bad about some rivalry. Did it make you better with a gunblade?

[innermonologues]

I don't really know if it made me better. I think it's just more that our styles clash and our personalities clash even more. So even if we fight similarly it's still really different.

[ Squall quietly fidgets with the ear piercing device to get one of the earrings loaded into it. ]

[oathkeeper]

[He vaguely knows what they're doing so Sora doesn't really notice the sounds of Squall getting the package ready. He shrugs.]

Maybe you were able to have your own style because of him, though. [Sora smiles a bit.] You really like gunblades, though. They're great. I like them too!

[innermonologues]

If you ever wanted to try it out, I do still have my revolver here.

[ While his new shiny Gunblade takes his favorite spot, his Revolver Gunblade hangs up on the wall right above where the head of the bed was. Almost like it was on display. ]

I kind of want to see if you could handle it actually.

[ He lets out a soft laughter, which happened at a good time, because it drowned out the tiny click of the piercing device. Squall thinks he's ready to give Sora the first one, but he wanted to make sure he was good and distracted. ]

[oathkeeper]

[Sora tilts his head a bit. He ponders that note with a small shrug.]

It can't be much different than using a keyblade to aim magic, I guess. But I'm not sure I'd be that good at it. You know, Lightning uses gunblades too, huh?

[innermonologues]

I'm pretty sure the fact that I share a weapon with her is the only thing that kept her from completely writing me off as some kind of brat when I first appeared. She got on my case for my attitude a lot.

[ But then again who didn't. No one wants all of Veren's to turn into a winter wonderland, right?

Squall very lightly touches Sora's earlobe just to test how distracted he was. ]

Hers is a little different from mine though. I think it's more advanced.

[oathkeeper]

[That has Sora laughing which makes him shift a little. His hair brushing Squall's fingertips just lightly near his ear.]

You're not nearly as much of a brat as you used to be. So points there...

[Hummmm.....!]

[innermonologues]

[ WOW RUDE?? But he couldn't really argue that fact. Even he realizes that he was extremely terrible back when he first came. He's honestly surprised anyone ever gave him a chance. ]

I think I have you to thank for that. If it wasn't for you, I'd probably still be by myself, telling people they're better off talking to walls.

[ Squall slips the device where it needs to be and just as he clicks it to pierce Sora's ear, Squall leans over to kiss Sora's keep from the other side. ]

[There's something on his ear-- And then there's Squall kissing his cheek----

Boy. You have about half of a second to DO THIS.]

Ahhh!!

[It's sharp and there's a snap of pain?! He nearly swings wildly at Squall but his fingers instead dig and grip at Squall's thigh instead.]

Ow?!!

[ ... But- It's done. ... And it wasn't so bad.]

[innermonologues]

[ Squall snorts loudly and one of his arms wraps tightly around Sora's waist to keep him from trying to run off. He does happen to wince a little, but it was worth it to see Sora's face right now.]

That wasn't so bad.

[oathkeeper]

[His ear feels like it's burning a little and he can feel the light weight of the new crown-shaped earring in his lobe. He reaches a hand up and sort of wants to touch it? He touches at his hair gently.]

Ahh... Because you tricked me. [Sora frowns a little but he cuddles against Squall gratefully. Now he can have an earring just like Squall does.]

Does it look okay...?

[innermonologues]

[ He may have tricked Sora, but it worked, didn't it? The way he cuddles so close to him makes Squall smile though. Dropping the piercer onto the bed, Squall wraps both of his arms around Sora and pulls him in close. ]

You know what? I think it looks pretty cool.

[oathkeeper]

[That makes Sora smile when Squall says so and curls around him so securely. The weight of Squall's arms around him feel so good. It always has.]

Thanks, Squall. I guess it wasn't so bad.

[innermonologues]

[ Squall couldn't help it. Whenever Sora was this close to him he just wanted to hold on tight regardless. Feeling his warmth, hearing his loving voice, Squall could soak all of this in and still not have enough. ]

I'm just kind of happy you let me.

[oathkeeper]

[Sora laughs softly. He holds onto Squall and gives his arm a squeeze. Got to make sure he gets his daily cuddle session in.]

Kind of happy I let you stab me with a needle tool? Geeze.

[innermonologues]

[ Squall laughs loudly at that, burying his face into Sora's soft hair to hide it. Sora was such a brat sometimes!!]

What was that? You wanted a couple more piercings in that ear?

[oathkeeper]

[WHAT ITS TRUE]

I think one is more than enough for me today!!

[innermonologues]

[ Squall snorts again, still nuzzling his face in Sora's hair for a little while longer. ]

You were pretty brave you know. You didn't even elbow me in the face like I thought you might.
