[Just by how Auron's talking it might be immediate that something's off. He sounds exhausted.]

[ Squall raised a brow to the voice. ]

I feel like I should be asking you that.

Me? I've been better, to be honest. Resting right now. Just thought I'd check since I can't go anywhere.

[ he lets out a soft huff. ]

You're always telling me to be careful and you can't even follow that for two seconds.

[He might be exhausted but he'll never stop snarking at his kids.]

You sound like Aragaki. Makes sense since you hang out together. I will be fine with rest.

You accepting visitors, old man?

[ So he can smack you upside the head for doing something he assumes was dangerous. ]

I seem to be awake now, so yeah, I guess I am.

[You are not smacking him. Although if you can, that would technically be a fight you won, so you do you, Squall.]

Mm, I know where that is, and I hope cloud's giving you a hard time.

[ He may or may not be able to hear it, but Squall is definitely on the move now. ]

He's leaving me alone and letting me rest and feeding me. Best roommate I ever had.

[Cloud's also rapidly becoming one of Auron's good friends as well. However, he knows he's going to get yelled at Squall and that's kinda fine. Shinji will also be yelling at some point he's sure since he also checked on him.]

I can't believe you'd get yourself into trouble like this.

I have a really, really good reason.

[Which is probably going to wait until Squall bursts into his room. Auron's just resting in bed, wearing dark clothes and no robe. He does pause a moment to slip on his shades.]

[ Squall's side becomes silent as he finally approaches the house and lets himself in. He looks around until he finds the room Auron is in. ]

At least I can see for myself that you're all right.

[Auron sounds even more tired in person and looks like he needs another day or so of sleep.]

[ Squall doesn't say anything at first, he just approaches Auron. ]

What kind of trouble did you get yourself into, old man?

[ He sat down on the bed behind Auron, before he flops down beside him. ]

A massive catharsis that involved going through things in my past that I hadn't really shared completely. Sora was there and so was Lightning. Kinda needed them both so I didn't go completely off the deep end.

[ He scoots closer to Auron, but doesn't really face him. ]

Kinda threw down lots of destructive dunamis to get it out of my system. So I feel a little tired. A little empty. Figure the best thing to do was start somewhere positive. It's why I bugged you. Aragaki too.

[ Squall let out a soft sigh before pushing Auron over a little more so he could curl up beside him. ]

Troublesome old man.

Smart ass kid.

[Auron put an arm around Squall's shoulders and sighs as well. He closes his eye and doesn't say anything more.]

[ Squall scoots into the hold. He knows when he had a bit of his emotions drained, when he leaned on Noctis it made him feel a little more energy so maybe it'd be the same for Auron. ]

[That he didn't know at all. He does know that being comforted by Squall is, well, comforting. It does ease that empty feeling of having to realize that Jecht and Braska can no longer be the center of his whole world and he has to move on.

Maybe because he's accepted that, he can appreciate what Squall's doing way more.]

[ Even though he says that, he still curled up close to Auron. ]

Just figured yelling at you wouldn't really do much, especially since I'd probably be a hypocrite.

[He knows why this is comforting now. Because he can't remember anyone ever doing this to him before. He was the monk and the Guardian, the one to give comfort and to take the damage. Not the person that got to be comforted.]
